Ryder Robison (RER Studios, Vaux)
This stunning piece of craftsmanship, entitled Northern Flicker & Bullsnake (with roses), features pyrography on hardwood with with leather wrap handle, and leather lace stitch & braid. Ryder notes that it was “inspired by the northern flickers in our neck of the woods in Idaho and their hard-headed stubbornness/drumming on wood to communicate with others. The bullsnake (another native species here) are a favorite of mine for their ability to mimic a venomous rattler and hold their own in any situation. And roses, well they’re roses. You gotta be some kinda jerk if you don’t appreciate a rose.” Ryder spent years laying down the low end for the band Vaux, and currently works out of his own studio in rural Idaho.
We asked 18 of our friends to bring their artistic talents to an unfinished piece of 34" Trinity Bat Company lumber, in an effort to celebrate our love for baseball and music. We'll be donating 50% of the final auction price of each bat to NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) in an effort to help independent venues out with their economic recovery process. Live music helped us build our community, and now we want to lend them a helping hand. With venues being shut for over a year, many of our favorite places to watch/play a show are on the verge of going under. Thanks for getting involved!
